So I have finally gotten round to writing up the pattern for this cute little guy thanks to being let home early from work due to losing my voice, which isn’t helpful when you work in a call centre, but never mind. I hope you like the pattern, I love him to bits, cute monsters are the best. I can’t decide if he is a monster or a dinosaur so I just called him Grr. 1. Oh I love Grr! So will my little guys! Gonna have to make a trip to the yarn store! :) Thanks for sharing!

  2. I think this is a great pattern because you cannot tell what it is! Little boys love stuff like that ^^ Did you make up the pattern as you went along, or is it partly based on another design?

  3. I doodle lots to get ideas and try to translate that into crochet, I find most of the time, if I can draw it I can make it, Glad you like him

  4. Oh he is cute. I might have to make a red version for a Welsh Grr.....

  5. It´s fantastic! Thanks to share your pattern.
I invite you to my blog:

  6. hola
    desde argentina,estoy visitando tu blog,me encanto el dinosaurio.ti invito a mi blog.http://www.marianaitati.bogspot.com.

  7. He is so adorable!!! But, I have a question. On row 25, where you start decreasing, you say to "sc 4, dec" around with 36 stitches total. Unless I'm missing something, that leaves you with 7 groups of 5, or 35 stitches. Is it supposed to be sc 5, then dec? That would yield 36 stitches. I just wasn't sure whether to decrease more rapidly to make him a bit flatter on bottom or whether he has the same decrease as he had increase, if that makes sense?

  8. Ahh, sometimes I might end up with an extra stitch at the end and I havn't mentioned it in the pattern, oops, thanks for pointing that out. Hope that helps

  9. hye...i'm one of GRRR's fans....
    actually i'm crocheting this pattern...
but i stop at round 8 because i do not know how to crochet and at the same time, adding the eyes and mouth...
would u please help me or maybe show it with videos...thank u... :)

  10. could u like order one or do u have to make it ur self?

  11. what round should the eyes be placed, and how far apart should they be?

  12. Hi Elizabeth,
I placed his eyes between row 12 and13 and they are about an inch and a half apart.
    Keep crocheting!

  13. omg this pattern is so cute! just one question, after row 25, do you keep single crocheting only the front loops? I'm a little confused :O

  14. You go back to normal sc after that row,

  15. what size hook did you use for Grrr?

  16. 3.5 mm . Sorry i thought i had put it on the pattern but looks like i forgot. Maggie

  17. that is so cute!!! i want to made one a gift. how big is it??

  18. I think he looks quite a bit like the dragon out of "Potatoes and Dragons" - my kids love that show!
