BOGIES!

Strange but true this winter has been all about bogies, one reason is because I had a horrible cold and used a lot of tissue on my poor nose and the other is because of the game Bogies made infamous by the TV show “Dick and Dom in the bungalow” the object of the game is to shout bogies louder than the person playing with you, this is usually best played somewhere quite like a museum or office. Anyway I though it would be cool to make these little creatures and aren’t they just adorable... well as adorable as a pile of snot can be, I hope you enjoy the pattern, its super quick to make so fetch your finest snot coloured yarn and get crocheting

The ramblings of an unoccupied mind

Ok, this is how it’s gonna happen, I’m going to visit a wool shop that happens to be located next to a nuclear power station, There is a terrible accident and I am unable to escape the wool shop before a massive nuclear explosion reeks havoc on the surrounding area, all are left for dead as there is no way anyone could survive an explosion of that magnitude...or could they? Days later I emerge from the glowing rubble, my body being protected by the soft yarn and some how by some magical glory I have developed super powers! What super powers I hear you ask? Well I have acquired the power to knit really fast!.....

Ok, in the land of super heros that is a pretty sucky power, but I’m getting fed up with how long it takes to knit stuff, crochet is so much quicker! I’ve got just one sleeve left on the hoody I’m working on at the moment and with December being so busy I don’t have time to sit down and do it, it’s especially frustrating as I have so many awesome ideas for new patterns, I can’t wait to get started on them. Oh bother the call center, let me sit at home and craft things all day!

Right I promise, by hell or high water, next post will have a free pattern, I’m getting crochet withdrawal *twitch twitch*

Post Rant: Yay it’s Christmas!

What Would Jesus Glue?

So last night I went to the craft party hosted by Sew Darn Good at The Fortescue pub in Plymouth. It was wonderful, paper and crayons on the table for some hardcore doodling. Lots of buttons, fabric, glitter and glue to make wonderful things and live music from some awesome local bands. It was a very good night.

I went with my friend Sam to teach her how to crochet and she did amazingly well. I was teaching her to make a square of single crochet and it was perfect, she didn’t miss any stitches or do any random increases so the next step will be crocheting in a circle so she can start working on the awesome care bear patterns that I found. I always wanted a care bear when I was a kid but never had one, now I can make my own, yay!
Hopefully if Sam gets good enough she can be one of the pattern testers for the book.

I can’t wait to get properly started on going to the knitting group every week but it looks like it will be starting up again in the New Year.

Following my dreams

Greetings Friends,

I am so sorry it has been a very long time since I have posted anything and I have nothing to offer but my apologies for my long absence but never fear, I am back and with renewed vigour and enthusiasm for crochet.

I have recently had one of those “what am I doing with my life?” moments and I have decided to actively follow my dreams and really make a name for myself in the crochet world, as I really don’t want to still be working in a call centre in 10 years time. So my plan is to make even more free patterns, start selling patterns and start working on my crochet book. Also get off my but and start going to knit club to teach crochet lessons and selling my wears at craft fairs. Its everyones dream to make a living out of there hobby and I’m going to grab that dream and ride it into the sunset, I’ve got nothing to lose.

I'd love to hear your ideas from a crochet book, what would you like to see in it? i've got so many ideas for patterns just need to get a few works in progress out of the way first before the creating really begins. I'm really looking forward to this and I'll be keeping you all updated on my progress.

Much Lub
